We've provided descriptions of the most common amenities that you'll find at the VillaDirect holiday homes, apartments and town homes below.

 

Air conditioning
The majority of VillaDirect holiday homes are provided with air conditioning and air heating as a standard amenity. Please check each property’s individual amenities list to confirm that this is appropriate to the VillaDirect holiday home you have chosen.

Guests staying at a VillaDirect holiday home in Spain should also note that to ensure the best operating temperature range, the doors and windows of the Spanish villa in which they are staying should be kept closed. A continued failure by a staying guest to keep doors and windows closed during Summer season can easily cause a break-down in the air conditioning, and additional charges may be applied.

 

Linens and towels
All Spanish holiday homes from VillaDirect are each provided with linens and towels for our guests. An inspection count is performed before arrival to ensure that quantities are maintained at or above the required number to provide sufficient for each guest party.

Guests should note that, in keeping with industry norms, all linens and towels are cleaned on premises after the departure of each guest party. Regrettably, there is insufficient time to press/iron linens or towels at our holiday homes between guests.

 

Swimming pool and/or spa pool
Guests staying at a VillaDirect Costa del Sol holiday villa, and in the majority of the Spanish townhouses offered will have their own private swimming pool or spa. These private pools are for the enjoyment of our guests and are serviced every week by pool technicians (quite often while your family are at the beach or the attractions, restaurants and shops).

Some of the pools and/or spa pools at the Costa del Sol holiday homes that VillaDirect rents to guests are optionally heated by either gas or electric heat pumps (pool heating is specified against the individual property description). For details on the differences, please read the section on pool heating below on this page. Where pool heat is chargeable, it is clearly noted on your quote, and will also be clearly shown on your booking confirmation. Pool heat is only recommended to guests between October and May each year.

The true test of a clean pool is to see if the water itself is clear. All pools are treated with the correct level of chemicals to ensure that the water remains clear and clean for guests. On larger homes, this sometimes means 2 visits per week during the Summer months, as evaporation can alter the chemical balance.

If there is sand or debris on the bottom of the pool, it will be removed on the next service. Sand in the pool or on the deck should not be regarded as a problem by guests. Here in Spain, there is always building and road improvement in progress, and air-borne sand is blown or washed (by rain) on to the pool and deck on a daily basis.

Guests staying at a VillaDirect managed apartment or town house without a private pool will enjoy the benefit of a community pool. All holiday apartments and town houses offered by VillaDirect are located on gated resorts or communities with a community pool.

 

Cutlery, crockery, pots and pans
Each of the Spanish holiday homes that we offer to guests is completely furnished and equipped to help you to enjoy your holiday without the need to pack everything when you come to visit the Costa del Sol or the Costa Blanca. All kitchens at the holiday homes, apartments and town houses are equipped with a suitable quantity of knives, forks, spoons, cups, plates, bowls, glasses, tumblers, pots and pans for cooking.

Guests should note that VillaDirect recommends a level of pots and pans to its property owners, but occasionally, the holiday home in which you are staying may not have enough for your needs. If you need additional pots and pans to make family meals during your stay, we always have replacement units available at our offices, and you are welcome to collect them. Regrettably, we are unable to guarantee the quantity of pots and pans that will be available for your stay.

Guests should note that such cutlery, crockery, pots and pans as are provided are cleaned in a dishwasher on the premises, and may not be sterilized.

 

Standard equipment
All holiday homes offered by VillaDirect are provided with a standard level of kitchen appliances such as cooker, stove, range, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, kettle, washer, dryer, iron and board. Many also have additional items such as hairdryers.

Guests should expect that the holiday homes at which they stay will have the standard items provided. If you want additional items, these can be provided through our guest services team, who will be happy to source them for you and provide a cost.

Occasionally, even the best maintained homes will suffer from an appliance that fails. Wherever possible, the company will repair or replace an appliance that is broken, or offer you the use of another appliance during your stay.

 

Games rooms
Some of our Costa del Sol holiday homes offered by VillaDirect Spain are provided with a games room for our guests enjoyment. Guests must ensure that children are supervised at all times while in the games room. Injury to guests is entirely at the risk of the guest, and the company cannot be held liable for damages caused by the use of the equipment. Any damage caused by the guest to the games room equipment is not covered under the Accidental Damage Waiver. If the equipment in a games room is damaged or has missing parts (cue tips or dart flights/darts), spares or replacement can be collected or purchased from the VillaDirect office.

PLEASE NOTE: All game room equipment is inspected for damage after a guests departure. Guests staying at a holiday home in Spain offered by VillaDirect Spain must notify the company within 1 working day of their arrival of any damage found or breakage. Failure to do so will likely result in additional charges to your credit card.

 

Pool heating
Electrically heated pumps will warm a pool on a Spanish holiday home to the operating temperature in 24-48 hours - depending upon the ambient air temperature. Please note that electrical pool heaters utilise a heat exchange pump. If the outside temperature at your holiday home drops below the operational range for that type of pump, then the pool heater will not operate and the pool will not be heated. If the overnight temperature drops below a certain temperature, the pool may not be able to return to the operating temperature range during the following day. In such a case, the money that you were charged for pool heat (only) for that day will be refunded on request.

Guests should also note that spa pools provided on holiday homes with electric heat pumps are not hot-tubs, and are not always designed to heat higher than the temperature of the pool. If a guest specifically wishes to have a hot-tub, then they should select a holiday home from our range that have a gas heater and spa pool.

All guests should note that pool heat cannot be guaranteed, as sometimes mechanical devices fail, or environmental factors will not allow the pools to be heated. Guests must notify the company of failure of pool heat on the day, so that the temperature or the equipment can be checked by personnel. In the event that pool heat purchased by the guest fails to heat the pool to the specified temperature, VillaDirect will refund the pool heat for the days it is not provided (on request).

Regrettably, the company cannot be responsible for the availability of facilities provided by the community or resort at which you will be staying, as these are outside of the company's control.
