VillaDirect uses a star rating system to grade each of the properties that the company manages and offers to you, our guests. This gives a simple and easily recognized method of determining which home you want to stay in.
Our lowest 3 star graded properties are equivalent to most 4 star holiday rentals from other companies. Our Diamond grade properties are simply unequalled and all offer incredible quality at affordable prices.
4. How does VillaDirect price it's homes?Quality, quality, quality. Unlike other management companies, some travel agents and tour operators, VillaDirect allow and encourage you to select the holiday home that perfectly matches your needs and budget. Because we allow you to select the villa of your choice, VillaDirect has to be certain that you'll be happy and satisfied with the property that you stay in every time. We thoroughly clean and inspect the villas after every stay, and the property owners enter our maintenance program to ensure that their homes are kept in the best condition that they can be at all times.
Each of our properties has to be in 'tip-top' condition before we'll rent them to guests. Even then, VillaDirect rental property rates are only a fraction of the cost of staying at one of the coasts top hotels, which are comparable in quality - but can never compare with ease of access, privacy and space!
5. Is Maid Service included in the price?VillaDirect properties are rented to guests on a "Self-catering" basis. Each and every VillaDirect property is cleaned on departure of every guest party, and inspected prior to your arrival. For your convenience and hygiene, each home is provided with a dishwasher, washing machine, mop, brush and pan for maintaining the property cleanliness during your stay. All homes are treated regularly for insects, and the pools are treated to maintain their cleanliness.
Some guests that stay for a longer period (over 10 days) request a mid-term clean, which can be arranged in advance through our office for a standard fee.
6. When do I pay the deposit/final payment/accidental damage waiver?A full set of our Terms and Conditions of rental can be found by clicking here.
In brief, your deposit payment is due at the time of booking, to confirm and hold the reservation. Final payment of all rentals, options, and taxes are due 60 days prior to the arrival date. The Accidental Damage Waiver is due at the time of your final payment.
Payment for tickets, golf reservations, vehicle rental, groceries, disabled equipment hire, mobility scooters and baby equipment hire is due at the time of purchase.
7. How do I book my holiday home through VillaDirect? Please see the How to Book page accessible via this link or select How to Book from the guest menu.
8. How do I find VillaDirect in the Costa del Sol?From Airport to VillaDirect Offices in La Cala de Mijas
If you have booked your rental car through VillaDirect then our associate car rental company, Europacar will provide you with your car at the airport. The car rentals area is accessed by proceeding downstairs, as you leave the baggage claim area before you pass through into the Arrivals Hall. You will see several large signs on your right indicating where Europacar amongst others can be found. Should you have booked your hire car through an alternative company you should check to see whether they are situate on the ground floor of the airport or whether you need to enter the main arrivals hall to meet a hire car representative to take you to your pickup point.
1. Follow the signs labelled Salida (exit), and head for the sign pointing to Malaga/Cadiz E15 N340. Drive along this road for about ½ km and you will come to a roundabout with car rental companies on its left hand side.
2. Go straight across (2nd exit), and you will see the San Miguel factory on your right hand side. This is a dual carriageway and you need to be in the right hand lane heading for Torremolinos and CADIZ. Follow the road to the end and around to the right, and you will filter onto the N340, a three lane dual carriageway.
3. Look for a signpost (above the road) which directs you to Benalmadena Algeciras E15 A7 N340. You will then see on the right side skyline a large sign advertising CARRANZA, just before you pass the BMW Garage.
4. Keep in the right hand lane and take the right fork off which takes the N340 up to join the E15 A7 Motorway. The E15 A7 Motorway and the N340 are now sharing the same route and will do so until they separate, see (6) below.
5. Driving along this combined road you will pass an interchange (Cambio de Sentido) signposted Torremolinos Palacio de Congresos Junction 227, followed by Junction 223 for a large Repsol Service Area, Junction 222 for Benalmadena/Arroyo de la Miel, (look up to see the Cable Car shortly afterwards), and Junction 217 for Benalmadena/Mijas. The junction numbers are not necessarily consecutive since they refer to distances in km.
6. Before Junction 217 the road begins a long downhill descent. About three parts the way down this hill the road divides as noted in (4) above. There is plenty of advance notification of this split, and you will see large overhead signs pointing left for the E15 A7 to Marbella/Algeciras (which becomes a toll (PEAJE) road further on), and to the right for the N340 Costa to Fuengirola/Algeciras.
7. Make your way over to the right hand lane, and stay in this lane following the N340 Costa to the right passing under the sign for Fuengirola/Algeciras Junction 214. Should you inadvertently find yourself on the PEAJE please see Item A1 below.
8. Shortly after separating from the Motorway you will pass a sign to the right for A387 to Mijas/Fuengirola Junction 213, and then a second sign for Fuengirola/Los Boliches Junction 212. Ignore both and continue along the main road.
9. The N340 now becomes what is effectively the Fuengirola by-pass, and you will pass interchanges for Fuengirola/Mijas, Fuengirola, Fuengirola/Coin and Fuengirola (currently blocked by road works). Please note that N340, both here and elsewhere, is also variously and confusingly labelled A7 and E15.
10. As you come to the end of the urban area you will cross Rio Fuengirola and should see a Castle (Sohail) up on your left, followed on the same side by the large pinkish/beige Hotel Beatriz.
11. The road bends left and right around the coastline and has several minor turnoffs to the right which you should ignore. You will also pass an interchange (cambio de sentido) for El Faro. This means lighthouse, which you may spot close to the road up on the cliff on your right.
12. Shortly afterwards you will see a sign on the right hand side that says Atencion Curva Peligrosa 500m (this means dangerous bend), followed by another sign Atencion Curva Peligrosa 300m. Slow down and ensure that you are in the right hand lane as the turn off for La Cala de Mijas (cambio de Sentido) is just after these bends.
13. Keep a sharp lookout, there is no pre-warning, the sign for the turnoff is immediately above the exit which is on a left hand bend. Drop down the slip road to the roundabout. Go three parts way around the roundabout under the bridge, then take the right signposted for Fuengirola/Malaga.
14. Drive along this dual carriageway for about 100m, past the taxi rank on your right, and turn left at the next roundabout (2nd exit) to proceed along the main street of La Cala de Mijas (another dual carriageway).
15. Continue along this boulevard and you will see a Supersol Supermarket on your left hand side. VillaDirect offices are above this Supersol on the first (top) floor. After about 300m at the end of the boulevard you will come to another roundabout with a fountain. Make almost a complete U turn and take the exit into the car park.
16. As you drive in, the Supersol is in front of you and the entrance to our Offices is at the right hand end, (furthest from the main street), but on the other side of the building. Free parking is available on both sides.
17. Enter the ground floor lobby through a green iron door and climb the stairs (or take the lift) to the first floor landing. Pass through the glass door on the right (or opposite, if you took the lift), then follow the corridor along and around to the right.
18. You will find our office (No. 7) towards the end on the left, where we will be only too happy to welcome you. Congratulations, you have safely arrived to collect your keys!
A1. Should you have inadvertently taken the A7 instead of the N340 then you must continue on this road until you see a signpost for Calahonda. Be sure to take this turn off because there is no other until you reach Marbella. You will need to pay €2.00 during the winter and €3.10 during the summer to exit this toll road.
A2. Once you have paid, follow the signs for N340 Malaga. After you have rejoined the N340 heading for Malaga you will pass the Riviera del Sol cambio de sentido, and the next will be for La Cala de Mijas. Just prior to this turn off you will see a large BP Garage on your right hand side.
A3. Take the La Cala de Mijas exit and drive down the slip road to the roundabout. Take the first right turn signposted Fuengirola/Malaga to rejoin the instructions above at Item (14).
GENERAL
Should you miss a turn off, do not panic! Unless directed otherwise above, head for the next Cambio de Sentido. Once you reach this take it and you will be able to turn around and head back the way you came on the N340.
It is advisable to carry your passport, driving licence and car hire contract at all times when driving as the police can stop you for a variety of reasons which only they are privy to! If they feel that you have caused an infraction they have the ability to charge you an instant spot fine. Having said this there is very little likelihood of this occurring, but it is something you should be aware of.
Finally, take care when you are driving. The Spanish are the most laid back people until they get behind the wheel of a car! It is advisable, unless you are confident driving, to stay in the right hand lane whenever possible as this is the slower lane.
If you have booked your car through another company then you may be collecting your car off site from the airport:
Most companies are situated just outside the airport and you will be able to get a courtesy bus to your relevant car collection point. These all filter onto the roundabout just outside the airport, see Item 1 above. Thereafter just follow the directions detailed from Item 2 onwards.
